The goal of VIRTUE is to improve and integrate state-of-the-art CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) tools in a comprehensive simulation environment of ship performance at sea aiming to complement model test basins in the provision of marine hydrodynamic services. VIRTUE is an EU FP6 (EU Framework Programme 6) Integrated Project, which started 1st of January 2005 and continues until end of 2008.

SSPA participates in all five Work Packages (WPs) of VIRTUE:

• WP 1: The Numerical TOWING Tank
• WP 2: The Numerical SEAKEEPING Tank
• WP 3: The Numerical MANOEUVRING Tank
• WP 4: The Numerical CAVITATION Tank
• WP 5: The Integration Platform
