MaRINET2 – Providing support for offshore renewable energy developers

MaRINET2, the Marine Renewables Infrastructure Network, is composed of 39 organisations who collaborate to progress offshore renewable energy technologies in Europe. It aims to accelerate the development of wave, tidal and offshore wind energy technologies and infrastructure by opening up access to 57 test facilities across 13 European countries.

The project is now in its fourth iteration, and it is supported by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme. Since 2017, the project has awarded €4.8 million in free testing access to almost 100 users, giving an important boost to wave, tidal and offshore wind projects heading towards commercialisation. So far, developers from 18 EU and 5 non-EU countries have benefitted from nearly 400 weeks of testing time.

The fifth and final call will be open from 1 September until 16 October 2020. The call will provide access to testing facilities between 18 January and 17 July 2021.
