New framework agreement with Ports of Stockholm
Recently, we signed a framework agreement with Ports of Stockholm regarding ship simulations, maritime risk inventories and traffic-, incident- and accident investigations. SSPA had previously a similar framework agreement and has supported investigations and ship simulations regarding the establishment of the new Stockholm Norvik Port, development of Stockholm as a cruise destination and various minor jobs in Kapellskär.
SSPA was granted the right to sign an agreement after winning the procurement that Stockholm’s Ports carried out in the autumn of 2019. The framework agreement is valid until 2021 with the possibility of extension until 2024.
- “We regularly need support for maritime risk and simulation studies. For some years now, it has mainly been SSPA that has helped us with this. Through our renewed framework agreement, we can now continue to use their expertise. They understand our operations and are skilled in their field,” says Jonas Andersson, Nautical Coordinator at Ports of Stockholm.
The procurement, which focused on competence, capacity and flexibility, was carried out in two steps, in the end SSPA was the only contracting party, which confirms SSPA's role as Sweden's leading provider of maritime simulation and risk-related consulting services.

SEAMAN simulations improve fairway, port planning and design
Designing a new port, or modifying an existing one, are complicated processes involving many stakeholders and even more fields of expertise. Port of Rotterdam maneuvres in the simulator lab gives higher accessibility for large tankers
SSPA was contracted by the Port of Rotterdam to improve the maneuverability for large tankers at the Port and to optimize dredging requirements to improve accessibility for large tankers into the Botlek area.
