SSPA at Donsö Shipping Meet
On September 3-4, some of our experts are visiting Sweden’s biggest shipping event. For two days, partners, customers and suppliers gather together to discuss shipping-related topics. This year, SSPA will take part in the exhibition in stand B24, presenting one new business area, ILS & Technical Information Services. We will also demonstrate SEAMAN Online™, a fully web based professional maritime manoeuvring training simulator. On stage, we will talk about the interesting topic "Sailing cargo vessels, a realistic path to achieve carbon-neutral shipping", research where SSPA is a partner.
The event Donsö Shipping Meet brings together delegates from all over the world, estimated 100 shipping companies and 1.200 visitors. We hope to share knowledge, make new connections and new business opportunities.
- Together with our customers and partners, we develop a safer, more energy efficient and environmentally sustainable maritime sector. Would you like to book a meeting, please contact us says Magnus Wikander, Business Development Manager at SSPA.
ILS & Technical Information Services
In our stand B24 we will provide information about a wide range of maritime services that SSPA can support with. A special focus will be on the new business area, ILS & Technical Information Services, where our experts have unique expertise and experience in managing the entire ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) and documentation process for vessel owners, shipping companies and defence organisations. They can assist in a number of ways, including information analysis, the production, quality assurance and efficient publication of technical information, as well as practical verification of maintenance measures on board vessels.
SEAMAN Online
We will demonstrate SEAMAN Online™, a fully web based professional maritime manoeuvring training simulator. SEAMAN Online is requested by clients who wanted to provide theirs staff or students with unlimited access to a manoeuvring training environment. The tool is taking availability and flexibility to the next level.
On Stage presentation
Vendela Santén, will perform a presentation on "Sailing cargo vessels, a realistic path to achieve carbon-neutral shipping" at Donsöhallen on September 4 at hrs 12:00 - 12:20. Vendela is one of SSPA’s skilled researchers and she has a PhD in Green Logistics and a MSc. in Industrial Ecology.

Manoeuvring and seakeeping simulations, and the importance of high-quality data
Simulations are an efficient tool for gaining valuable insights for decision-making. To perform high-quality ship simulations, high-quality input data is required. Without good input data, the output from the simulations will not be a reliable source of support for decision-making. Thanks to SSPA’s test facilities, and the development and use of CFD, we have access to extremely good data which supports the simulation models in the SEAMAN Simulation toolbox.
Implementing S1000D for Swedish military assault and support crafts
How do you continuously manage technical publications for a large fleet of military assault and support crafts? You do this by implementing S1000D, the International Specification for Technical Publications. SSPA supports the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) in several projects with information analysis, data conversion, restructuring, content revisions, and quality assurance.
