SSPA rewarded for work on prediction of under-water radiated noise

The 18th Numerical Towing Tank Symposium (NuTTS) was successfully ended on the 30th of September 2015 in Cortona, Italy. Dr. Da-Qing Li from SSPA participated at the symposium and presented a new paper on prediction of under-water radiated noise and the symposium organization rewarded him with this year’s “Landrini Award”.

This two-day’s symposium attracted experts, researchers and young Ph.D. students all over the world to meet together to disseminate the latest results, work in progress as well as encountered challenges. The topics include: Nonlinear flows around marine structures, Free-surface flows around marine structures & seakeeping, and Validation experiments & numerical techniques. The symposium has kept the spirit of its founder to provide a forum for open discussion in an informal atmosphere with no ties!

Dr. Da-Qing Li participated at the symposium and presented SSPA’s work on prediction of under-water radiated noise with a paper “Progress in predicting pressure pulses and underwater radiated noise induced by propeller with pressure side cavitation” co-authored by Dr. Jan Hallander and Mr. Roger Karlsson from SSPA. The symposium organization rewarded Dr. Da-Qing Li with this year’s “Landrini Award” for his achievement.
