Technical support and expertise, lifetime extensions on CB90

The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has delivered updated combat boats, used in the amphibious battalion. The project includes in total 29 combat boats (CB90) that will acquire so called "lifetime extensions". Recently twelve CB90 was finalized and the remaining will be delivered during 2017. The goal is to increase the combat boats operational efficiency and technical availability. SSPA supports FMV with general technical support and expertise throughout this project.

SSPA has a framework agreement covering the supply of technical consultancy services within the amphibious systems for the Swedish navy. In this project, we have provided expertise in detail of execution and performance from the shipyard. We have been advising in the construction phase and the verification phase and taken an active part in the procurement documentation. We have supported during contract negotiations with the shipyards and participated in the design review.

Our experts are also reviewing the documentation delivered from the shipyard, both the structure and the actual content. This is the first time when the amphibious battalion receives delivery of documentation according to S1000D standard.

- “We are pleased to provide FMV with support and to facilitate them to achieve their goal, to support the amphibious battalion with enhanced combat boats”, says Magnus Forsberg, SSPA.
